Winston-Salem State swept a doubleheader at Claflin on Saturday afternoon to reach 30 wins for the ninth straight season.
On Sunday at Asheboro’s McCrary Park the Rams swept Claflin again winning 20-6 and 13-8. The Rams are 32-15 this season heading into their final games of the season.
In Sunday’s second game the Rams got a grand slam from Kendall Tucker and a solo homer from Wellington Guzman. Trenton Smiley also hit a home run as the Rams pounded out 10 hits.
Parker Strader went 3 1/3 innings to pick up the win as he improved to 4-0.
The Rams will close their final season next weekend with three games in a tournament at Big League Camp in Marion.
The program will be shut down for financial reasons after this season.
Coach Kevin Ritsche has a career record of 315-168 in his nine seasons. The Rams have won at least 30 games in all nine of his seasons.
