High school basketball has reached the postseason, and with that, boys and girls basketball tournaments in five conferences across the Northwest will start on Monday.

In the Central Piedmont 4-A, the Davie County boys finished the regular season undefeated in the conference and will be the top seed, and Reynolds finished second. The West Forsyth girls defeated Glenn on Friday night, clinching the top seed in the conference tournament and Glenn getting the No. 2 seed. First-round games will be played at the sites of the higher seeds on Monday, and semifinals will be played at Davie on Tuesday and Wednesday. The championships will be played on Friday at Davie.

The Southwest Guilford boys and the Greensboro Dudley girls won the Piedmont Triad 3-A conference title. Both teams received first-round byes, and semifinals will be played Tuesday and Wednesday at Western Guilford. The finals will be played on Friday at Western Guilford. The North Davidson boys and the Salisbury girls won the Central Carolina 2-A titles. Semifinals will be played Wednesday and Thursday at North Davidson and the championships will be played Friday at North Davidson.

The West Stokes boys and Forbush girls will be the top seeds in the Western Piedmont Athletic 2-A tournament. Semifinals will be played Wednesday and Thursday at Forbush, and both championships will be played Friday at Forbush. In the Northwest 1-A, the Winston-Salem Prep boys won the conference and Bishop McGuinness will be the No. 2 seed. The East Surry girls won the girls title in the Northwest 1-A and Mount Airy will be the No. 2 seed. Semifinals will be played Tuesday and Wednesday at Winston-Salem Prep, and both championships will be played Friday at Winston-Salem Prep.

The Mountain Valley 2-A/1-A tournament started last Thursday and it will resume on Tuesday and Wednesday with semifinals at Wilkes Central. Championships for the boys and girls will be Thursday at Wilkes Central.

State-tournament pairings in each of the four classes of the NCHSAA will be released next Saturday, and first-round games are scheduled to be played the following Tuesday.
