After nine seasons the WSSU baseball program is being eliminated because of finances.

The Rams lost their final home game at BB&T Ballpark on Tuesday night 9-2 to Catawba.

Coach Kevin Ritsche, who was hired by then athletics director Bill Hayes in 2010, to coach the baseball program has more than 300 wins in his nine seasons.

After the game on Tuesday Ritsche was emotional talking about what the program meant to him.
