Winston-Salem State swept a doubleheader from Virginia State winning 6-5 and 9-6 at Asheboro’s McCrary Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams improved to 21-11 thanks to two home runs each from Hunter Phillips and Kendal Tucker.

Cole Parks was the winning pitcher in the first game and winning the second game was Tyler Hearst.

The Rams and Trojans play a doubleheader on Sunday in Petersburg, Va.
