So much for Friday nights belonging to high school football teams.
Wake Forest’s nonconference home game against North Carolina has been pushed back one day, to Sept. 13. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be the third straight Friday night game to open the season for the Deacons, after playing Utah State on Aug. 30 and at Rice on Sept. 6.
Each of the first three games will be on different TV networks. The opener will be on the new ACC Network and is slated for an 8 p.m. kickoff. The game at Rice will be an 8 p.m. EST kickoff and will be on Conference USA’s TV package, though the specific network isn’t known yet.
And the game against North Carolina — the first of three home games Wake Forest will play this season against the Big Four teams — will be on ESPN.
The North Carolina game has been designated as Wake Forest’s annual “Wear Black” game, as fans are encouraged to wear all-black outfits to BB&T Field.
