The Port Huron Prowlers beat the visiting Carolina Thunderbirds 5-4 in over-time on Friday night in Michigan.

The Thunderbirds, who will be the top seed in the Federal Hockey League playoffs next month, had their nine game win streak come to an end.

The Thunderbirds (45-6) will likely play the Prowlers (23-28) in the first round of the playoffs starting on April 12.

Jay Dalton scored in the overtime for the Prowlers for the game winner.

Scoring goals for the Thunderbirds were Jan Salak, Michael Bunn, Ray Boudiette and Josh Pietrantonio. With six seconds left in regulation Pietrantonio scored to tie the game at 4.

Dalton’s goal came early in overtime with assists going to Matt Robertson and Matt Graham.

The two teams will play again on Saturday night.
