WINSTON-SALEM 08/05/1932 - 04/14/2019 Miriam Hudspeth, 86, was born on Friday, August 5, 1932 to Eula Whitesides Ervin and Everette V. Ervin, Sr. and grew up in Troutman, NC. Miriam was a member of Maple Springs UMC for 48 years where she was very active with the children's and youth programs. In addition to being active in the local church, Miriam retired from the Winston-Salem District Office of the UMC in 1994 as the executive assistant after 23 years of service. Miriam was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, husband Rev. Powell L. Wilkins, Jr. and husband W. Lloyd Hudspeth. Miriam is survived by 2 daughters, Deborah Reavis (Joe) and Victoria Gilchrist, and three grandchildren, Michelle Reavis, Bobby Register and Anthony Reavis (Leslie), and one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Herbin (James). A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Maple Springs UMC in Winston-Salem. Visitation will follow the service. A private burial will be at a later date in Statesville, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Parkinson Disease Research or the Pre-school at Maple Springs UMC.
