Providers with Novant Health Inc. health-care facilities now have access to artificial intelligence assistance in preparing care to patients.

The system said last week it has launched its Institute of Innovation & Artificial Intelligence with the goal of enhancing personalized patient care through accelerating the decision-making process.

The institute will focus on utilizing “actionable data and insights for preventive prediction, diagnosis and treatment.”

The institute will partner with technology companies, research organizations, universities and other health-care organizations to enhance its existing digital services platform.

“The institute will help Novant Health develop both clinical and operational solutions that streamline patient care across our health care system,” said Dr. Eric Eskioglu, Novant’s chief medical officer. The institute will be overseen by Eskioglu and Angela Yochem, the system’s chief digital and technology officer.

Leaders throughout the organization are encouraged to participate to optimize care in their specialties.

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center operates two similar innovation centers, one in Bailey Power Plant within Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, and its biomedical informatics centers at 486 N. Patterson Ave.
