GREENSBORO — Rain and speed contributed to an accident on Business 85 that killed a High Point man on Friday afternoon, the Highway Patrol said in a news release.

Jonathan Charles Entsminger, 42, died at the scene after his Jeep SUV crashed near Interstate 73 at about 2 p.m., according to the release.

Entsminger's southbound SUV traveled off the roadway, onto the left shoulder and into the median. The SUV spun around in the median and then struck two unoccupied trucks owned by Stay Alert Safety Services Inc. The trucks were in the area because of road construction.

Troopers said speed, combined with the rain, appeared to have significantly contributed to the crash.
