Haynes, Evelyn Stanley
February 28, 1932 - June 19, 2019 Mrs. Evelyn Stanley Haynes, 87, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2019 at the Brian Center Health and Retirement Center in Lincolnton, NC. Mrs. Haynes was born to the late Gerthie and Mittie Barker Stanley in Yadkin County on February 28, 1932. She graduated from Jonesville High School and lived her entire life in Yadkin County, until she relocated to Lincolnton, NC in 2015 to be nearer to her family. Mrs. Haynes was married for 62 years to the late Norman D. Haynes, who passed away in 2015. Evelyn was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and enjoyed working with her church, Fall Creek Baptist, where she organized church meals, delivered Sunshine Baskets and assisted in many other roles. Evelyn enjoyed antiquing and trips to the coast. She had a special love for her family and a fondness for dogs of all types. Surviving is her son, Richard Dale Haynes and wife, Elaine of Denver, NC; a granddaughter, Allison H. Comley, and husband Matt, Huntersville, NC; and a grandson, Jonathan Steelman of Hamptonville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Fall Creek Baptist Church, Jonesville, NC. November 10, 1924 - June 19, 2019 VONCANNON WALNUT COVE Rachel Tuttle VonCannon went home to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, June 19, 2019 at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. Rachel was born on November 10, 1924 in Guilford County to the late Cabel and Carrie Brown. She was a member of Samaritan Baptist Church and retired from Hanes Hoisery with 16 years of service. Rachel was a very charitable person and loved helping everyone. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her first husband, Burton Neal; 2nd husband, Thurmand VonCannon; son, William B. Neal, Sr.; and 3 brothers, Odice, Clarence, and Charles Tuttle. Rachel is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Neal; sister, Velma Hall; 2 grandchildren, William B. Neal, Jr. and Stephen W. Neal; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew Neal, Jack Neal, and Sydney Neal; special nephew, Ricky Tuttle; and 7 stepchildren, a host of stepgrandchildren, and numerous nephews and one niece. July 4, 1930 - June 18, 2019 Janice Eaton Collins passed away peacefully on June 18, 2019 at Trinity Elms in Clemmons, NC. She was born to Roy and Vera Eaton on July 4, 1930 in Ararat, VA. She was a firecracker all of her life and truly enjoyed any celebration that included her family and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her husband Hassell Collins, two sisters, Georgia (Bud) Edwards, and Betty (Bill) Johnson, and 2 brothers; Roscoe Eaton and Terry Eaton (Jeannette). She is survived by four children: Sharon Holt, Mike Collins (Julie), David Collins, and Lisa Cranford (Donnie), six grandchildren; Cambria James (Brandon), Josh Collins, Zachary Holt, Caitlin Gilwreath (Derek), Nathan Cranford (Jeannette), and Andrew Cranford (Connie), 4 great-grandchildren; Ali, Ana, Aiden, and Hannibal, two sisters; Jean Young (Claude), and Eva Wyatt (Bob), and 4 brothers; Roger Eaton, Noel Eaton(Effie), Dillard Eaton (Ann), and Clayton Eaton (Valerie), and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. In her final days at Trinity Elms she was cared for by many special people, and had very special friends there. July 23, 1927 - June 17, 2019 Mrs. Dorothy Everhart Earnhardt, 91, of Forsyth County, was called home by her heavenly father on Monday, June 17, 2019. She was born in Forsyth County on July 23, 1927, to the late Havana Blanco Everhart and Luna Brendle Everhart. Prior to her long illness, she was a faithful member of Clemmons United Methodist Church. She worked at First Citizens bank as the head bank teller and retired in 1989. Mrs. Earnhardt had a beautiful smile, bubble personality, and never met a stranger. She loved dancing, traveling, and being with all her family and friends. Mrs. Earnhardt will be truly missed by those so fortunate to come into her life. Preceding her in death are parents; beloved husband, Jennings Bryan (J.B.) Earnhardt; a sister, Vivian Sink; a brother, Walter Everhart; and a granddaughter, Angela Baker. Surviving are three daughters: Brenda Purcell of Kernersville, Judy Leonard of Winston-Salem, and Linda Berwick of Sunset Beach; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved and constant Pomeranian companion, Tinkerbell. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Clemmons United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Jeff Chewning. January 14, 1941 - June 16, 2019 Mary Etta Armfield Lien, age 78, peacefully passed away June 16, 2019. She was born to the late Charles and Mattie Paul Armfield on January 14, 1941. Mary Etta married Ralph Lien in 1962, and they lived together in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Mary is survived by her husband and three children: Katherine Zant, of Fort Mill, SC; Cindy Herrholz, of Indian Trail, NC; and Martha May, of Southlake, TX. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mary was a charismatic and straightforward, a loving wife, mother, and friend to all, who never stopped living life fully. She loved to travel, and she and Ralph took full advantage of their daughter's airline career seeing more of the world than they ever imagined possible. Her sincere, inviting, "never-met-a-stranger" approach to life created a growing community of dear friends. Mary leaves a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to touch many lives. The graveside ceremony will take place in Elkin, North Carolina at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22 at the Hollywood cemetery on N. Robert was born on June 26, 1941 in Forsyth County to the late George C. and Minnie Lawson Godfrey. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from T.W. Garner Food Company. Robert was a member of the Cityview Breakfast Club and was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Carney, Perry, Frank, Harold, and Richard Godfrey; and 2 sisters, Doris Neelie and Dorothy Edna. She was born October 15, 1945 to Lona Mae Inscore and Hubert Thomas Inscore in Forsyth County. She met her soulmate of 28 years, William Daniel Culler, and married on February 16, 1991. Patricia worked as a hairdresser for 45 years before she retired at Salemtowne. She had a passion for making others feel loved and beautiful. Her smile was her greatest gift to others. She was an active member of her church. She loved watching the birds. She praised Jesus to everyone she met. She is survived by her husband, William Daniel Culler. Her surviving sisters are Mary Moxley (Bill) and Peggy Weisner (Lou). Daughters are Christine Clodfelter and Melissa Stephens.
