A 51-year-old man was shot at an apartment complex in southeast Winston-Salem on Saturday night, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Police went to the Tara Court Apartments, 800 Tara Court, at about 9:34 p.m. after getting reports of shots being fired, according to the police report

One man was shot in the foot, and his injuries aren’t life threatening, said Winston-Salem police officer Lt. Greg Dorn.

The man and one other person were sitting on the porch of their apartment when the shots were fired, Dorn said.

The men told police they think the shots came from a dark colored sedan driving by but couldn’t be sure because they didn’t see anyone shooting, Dorn said.

In addition to the man being shot, Dorn said two cars in the parking lot were damaged in the shooting.

Dorn said police don’t have much of a suspect description beyond the dark sedan.
