Yadkin County authorities have arrested two men in connection with an attempted break-in at Forbush Elementary School on New Year's Day in eastern Yadkin County.
Nicholas Ryan Campbell, 22, and Michael Phillip Popp, 18, both of East Bend were charged with felony attempted breaking and entering, misdemeanor larceny and other offenses, the Yadkin County Sheriff's Office said.
A school employee called the sheriff's office on Jan. 1 and reported that two men had broken into the school at 1525 Falcon Road and then ran away after they were seen, the sheriff's office said. Deputies who arrived on the scene arrested Campbell after they chased him on foot.
Deputies arrested Popp two days later at his home, the sheriff's office said.
Campbell and Popp were being held at the Yadkin County Jail with Campbell's bond set at $25,000, and Popp's bond set at $10,000, the sheriff's office said.
