Winston-Salem police arrested a West Virginia man Tuesday on a fugitive murder warrant, court records say.
Jalen Malik Alexander, 24, of Beckley, W.Va. is a suspected in the May 17 death of Maurice Emmanuel Webster in Beckley, according to news reports.
Webster was shot at the Hargrove Street Apartments shortly after 1 p.m., Beckley police said. Webster later died of his injuries.
Authorities later issued an arrest warrant for Alexander, charging him with first-degree murder in Webster's death, according to news reports.
Alexander was being held Tuesday in the Forsyth County Jail with no bond allowed, according to a court record. Beckley police plans to extradite Alexander.
Alexander is scheduled to appear in court on June 13.
