HIGH POINT — A High Point man faces a charge of first-degree murder Friday in the fatal shooting of a man who tried to break up a fist fight in an intersection.

High Point police charged Cinciere Turner, 19, in the death of 38-year-old Rayshun Terry.

Police said Terry's brother, who police did not name, called 911 about 1:30 a.m. Friday to report his brother had been shot in the intersection of Wesley and East Green drives.

When officers arrived they found Terry suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

He became the city's eighth homicide of the year when he died at High Point Medical Center.

Officers said through their investigation they learned the brother had been involved in the fist fight that Terry tried to stop. Police said witnesses saw a man fire a gun toward those fighting.

Through their investigation, officers said, they identified Turner as the alleged shooter.

U.S. marshals arrested Turner about 2:30 p.m. Friday in Greensboro.

Turner is being held without bail in the Guilford County jail.
