GRAHAM — A mother of a 21-month-old child is facing multiple charges after Alamance County Sheriff's deputies allegedly found methamphetamine near baby bottle at her residence.
At 10:35 a.m. on Sunday, deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant at 6042-A Mt. Zion Road in the Liberty section of Alamance County, a sheriff's office news release stated.
The homeowner, 27-year-old Kyle Elizabeth Hollingsworth, stated that the wanted subject, her live-in boyfriend, was not home. She allowed deputies to check for her boyfriend inside the residence. He was not found.
While searching, deputies spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view. Deputies then questioned Hollingsworth about their findings and got consent from her to utilize a sheriff’s office K-9. The K-9 gave a positive indication for the presence of illegal narcotics in several areas inside the residence.
Hollingsworth again agreed to a search of her residence which lead to deputies finding a pill bottle containing 3.83 grams of methamphetamine and .53 grams of marijuana. The pill bottle was found on a bed less than one foot from a half-full baby bottle. A glass smoking pipe containing marijuana was also found on a table next to the bed.
Hollingsworth admitted that her child was drinking from the bottle in the same bed prior to the deputies arrival.
She was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana up to half-ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, misdemeanor child abuse, and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Hollingsworth was placed in the Alamance County jail with bail set at $25,000. Her first court appearance was scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday.
