Knollwood Baptist Church, 330 Knollwood St. Winston-Salem, will have its “Faith in the City: Deepening Community Conversations,” from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The year-long focus of the series is “The Struggle for Educational Equity.” This month’s topic will be “Paths to Change.” The speakers will be Sheryl Long, the director of teacher education and graduate studies in education at Salem College; Andrew Kraft, the chief accountability officer for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools; Dawn Hicks Tafari, an assistant professor of education at Winston-Salem State University; and Joe Crocker, director of local impact in Forsyth County at the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust. The series is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to bring a bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided.

Fundraiser

New Philadelphia Moravian Church, 4400 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, Boy Scout Troop 715 will have an all-you-can- eat smoked pork barbecue dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today. Eat-in or take-out is available. The cost is adults $10; children 7-12, $4, children 6 or younger eat free. Drinks and dessert are included.

Pine Chapel Moravian Church, 324 Goldfloss St., Winston-Salem, will have a pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Donations will be accepted.

Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 4495 Kenleigh Forest Road, Tobaccoville, will have a chicken stew fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Eat-in includes chicken stew, dessert and drink. Take-out includes chicken stew and dessert only; containers will be provided. The cost is $7.

Shrove Tuesday

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 810 N. Highland Ave., Winston-Salem, the Episcopal Churchwomen will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Featured items include pancakes (all you care to eat), pork or turkey sausage and beverage. The cost is $6, dine-in or take-out. Proceeds will benefit outreach activities. Ash Wednesday Services

Home Moravian Church, 529 S. Church St., Winston-Salem, will have its Ash Wednesday Day of Prayer service at 11 a.m. A coffee hour will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The speaker will be the Rev. Sandra Thigpen, a former pastor of St. Philips Moravian Church. Music will be provided by Alex Helsabeck, soloist and Susan Foster, organist. A nursery will be available for young children. An imposition of ashes and prayer will follow in the Saal until 2 p.m.
