GOOD COOK: If you missed Elizabeth Cook at MerleFest last month, you’ll get another chance to see her on June 1 as part of Martha Bassett’s monthly show at The Reeves Theater, 129 W. Main St., Elkin. Cook has distinguished herself in the new wave of Outlaw Country in songs such as “Sometimes It Takes Balls To Be a Woman,” “El Camino” and “Yes to Booty.” A favorite singer of David Letterman, Cook is host of “Apron Strings” on Sirius XM Radio. She will be joined by Winston-Salem native Caleb Caudle, who has collaborated with Cook, and old-time music enthusiast Joe Thrift. As always, Bassett will act as hostess, performing her own songs and joining the others. Tickets start at $20. See www.reevestheater.com.
