MacAuthority, based in Nashville, Tenn., will open a store in Hanes Mall on Saturday.
The regional computer retailer specializes in products from Apple, such as the iPod, iPad, and MacBook series.
This will be the company’s sixth store and its first venture into North Carolina. It has three locations in Tennessee and one in Kentucky.
“The combination of retailers at Hanes Mall play well against the life-enriching and cutting-edge merchandise we offer,” said Lucas Leverett, a spokesman for MacAuthority. “We're a regional business, but we represent the hottest worldwide brand in tech.”
The 3,600-square-foot store will be on the upper level between Sears and J.C. Penney.
MacAuthority will have a grand-opening event at 10 a.m. Saturday, giving away T-shirts to the first 100 customers. The retailer will also conduct drawings for prizes, including a MacBook Air and iPod models.
People can register online at www.macauthority.com for a 4-digit PIN that they can redeem in-store from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the prizes.
