The kind of season Tanner Price has experienced would likely get him benched on many other college-football teams, given he has passed for all of 268 yards over the past two games and continues to rank last in the ACC in passing efficiency.

But there’s one overriding reason that Price will take the field on Wake Forest’s first offensive possession Saturday in the regular-season finale against Vanderbilt. When Coach Jim Grobe looks at the alternatives every day in practice, he doesn’t see anyone as good as Price.
