With the new year will come a new season for college basketball.

Junior Travis McKie of Wake Forest recently called it the real season. And for McKie and the Deacons, it will get really serious really fast — starting with the Jan. 2 home game against Xavier in the resumption of the Skip Prosser Classic. Three days later, Wake Forest will begin ACC play at Duke, ranked No. 1 in the country. The game, appropriately enough, is scheduled for high noon.
