When Reagan added girls’ golf to its athletic menu in 2007, Jay Allred wanted to help out as a volunteer. At the time, he didn’t realize he would end up being the head coach.

“It’s a lot of fun, a lot more than I ever expected,” said Allred, who is the publisher of Triad Golf Today and Triangle Golf Today magazines. “I enjoy the process of building a team. I’m here to push the players to work hard and to show them how they can be successful. As coach, it’s my desire that every young lady will get something positive from being in our program. Hopefully, they can rely on what they learn from golf and apply that in their lives as adults.”
