CHAPEL HILL - The hard times aren’t over for North Carolina’s football program, but they are starting to ease.

Larry Fedora’s first season as coach ended last Saturday with a 45-38 victory against Maryland. Fedora guided his team to an 8-4 record and five ACC wins, but NCAA sanctions will keep the Tar Heels out of a bowl game.
