Hungarian jump-rope artist among performers coming to Greensboro for Cirque du Soleil

Hungarian Adrienn Banhegyi was just 9 when her father, a physical education teacher, saw a movie on TV that featured girls skipping rope in the double-Dutch style that originated in the United States.

After learning more about competitive rope skipping, young Banhegyi became intrigued by all the possible things that could be done with a jump rope, both as a team and as an individual. When her father brought the sport to his students, she joined in and started to explore the new sport.
