COLLIE WINSTON-SALEM Thomas A. Collie Oct. 22, 1954 - Dec. 23, 2013 Thomas "Tommy" Alexander Collie, age 59, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born October 22, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of Charles and Louise Collie of Hickory. Tommy was a graduate of Hickory High School, owner/manager of Happy Hearing Center in the Triad, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He had a deep love for the Lord and studying His Word. He was a gifted Bible teacher and enjoyed sharing God's Word with others. He is survived by: Wife of 30 years: Kim Huffman Collie of the home; Daughter: Ashley Collie of Salisbury; Parents: Charles and Louise Collie of Hickory; Sister: Dianne Duke and husband Sailor of Monroe; Four Brothers: Reid Collie and wife Jean of Hickory, Wayne Collie and wife Cindy of Charlotte, Darrell Collie and wife Lisa of Simpsonville, SC, Alan Collie and wife Kim of Newton; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church in Hickory with Dr. Guy Hipp and Brent Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, 5000 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Visit www.burkemortuary.com to register your condolences online.
