WHITMAN WINSTON-SALEM Faye Clodfelter Whitman April 6, 1926 - Sept. 24, 2013 Faye Clodfelter Whitman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. She was born to James Monroe and Bertha Stewart Clodfelter on April 6, 1926. Faye graduated from Wallburg School in 1943. She married the love of her life, Roger Gray Whitman, on November 19, 1947 and after 64 wonderful years Roger was called home to be with the Lord in 2011. Faye lovingly cared for Roger at home during the last ten years of his life. Faye's most loved job was that of being a homemaker. She loved her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was blessed by her immeasurable love. Cooking, cleaning, leading and guiding were all acts of love for those she loved. She was a faithful member of Wallburg Baptist Church for over 45 years, serving as Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school director, WMU leader/director, and church treasurer. Faye's favorite church position was that of delivering the children's sermon, and the adults enjoyed the stories just as much. Photographs of 'her boys and girls' were priceless treasures she kept over the years. "She was truly a gift from The Lord". Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lynn Carol Whitman; son, Randy Whitman and wife Tina; two grandsons, Christopher Smith and wife Kristy, and Daniel Smith and wife Suzanne; one granddaughter, Nicole Meade and husband Ryan; six great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mollie Smith, Rhys, Finn, and Jameson Meade, and Leona Whitman. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Wallburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Ehrlich and the Rev. Roy Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 1075 Teague Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to Wallburg Baptist Church, P.O.
