Judges wants more information on redistricting litigation that includes local districts

A three-judge panel hearing North Carolina’s redistricting litigation wants more information from attorneys about the role race played in the formation of congressional and state legislative boundaries drawn in 2011.

In Raleigh, the judicial panel met Wednesday with lawyers representing the state and legislative leaders and attorneys for voters and interest groups that sued over the maps, alleging they are unconstitutional.
