N.C. Supreme Court lets stand decision on campus police transparency

RALEIGH - The North Carolina Supreme Court is leaving unresolved a public records case, specifically whether private police records should be as transparent as those from municipal law enforcement agencies.

With Justice Barbara Jackson not participating, the court split 3-3 Friday on a case involving Elon University. The justices said that means a decision by the state Appeals Court stands, but that opinion sets no precedent.
