For the first time in six months, former Virginia State University football player Lamont Britt and Winston-Salem State University quarterback Rudy Johnson were in the same room together and this time, no punches were thrown.

Instead, Britt, 23, pleaded guilty in Forsyth District Court to simple assault. He was accused of hitting Johnson during a CIAA awards luncheon last November at WSSU’s Anderson Center, resulting in Johnson getting a black eye and the CIAA championship game between the two schools being cancelled.
