Lacy Green was scheduled to play at the now-canceled concert. Organizers say they'll attempt to reschedule.

The Arts Council  of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County has canceled its outdoor "Summer in the Park" concert at Tanglewood on Sunday because of the potential for severe weather.

Sunday's forecast calls for thunderstorms and heavy rains and wind, the Arts Council said in statement, creating hazardous conditions for the concert, which would have featured country singer Lacy Green.

The Arts Council will try to reschedule for later in the summer, said Christine Jones, the Arts Council's chief operating officer.

“Weather forecasts are calling for severe weather conditions,” Jones said. “We hate to disappoint persons who had planned to attend, but their comfort and safety is paramount. We will make every effort to find a future date.”
