Students mark Earth Day with lesson on plastic

Students at Cook Elementary celebrated Earth Day in the best way possible – by getting outside, enjoying the spring weather and learning how to keep the planet clean.

“If you don’t recycle all your trash and plastic containers, then the sea creatures that live in this world will be polluted,” explained fourth-grader Elijah Lafrennie, while standing in the field behind the school Tuesday afternoon. “You have to take care of Mother Earth.”
