MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry named chaired professor at Wake Forest

One of Wake Forest University’s most famous graduates, MSNBC television host Melissa Harris-Perry, is returning to the school as a chaired professor, Wake Forest officials announced Friday.

Harris-Perry, a 1994 Wake Forest graduate, will join the school’s Politics and International Affairs department this summer. She is leaving her job as a political science professor at Tulane University, where she has been since 2011.
