City officials said Thursday they were making steady progress in dealing with the major winter storm that dumped about 8 inches of snow over two days in Winston-Salem. The snow covered roads, caused mostly minor traffic accidents and closed businesses and schools.
The heavy snow also provided vivid winter scenes throughout the Triad and Northwest North Carolina.
