Gen Assmbly session starts in Raleigh
Pete Brunstetter will take over as the executive vice president and chief legal council for Novant.
- What’s next
Republican Party executive committee members in Forsyth and Yadkin counties will pick a replacement for Brunstetter, probably in 2014. Each county will have votes proportional to the percentage of N.C. Senate District 31 residents in that county. About 80 percent of the residents of the district live in Forsyth County and 20 percent in Yadkin County. The actual appointment will be made by Gov. Pat McCrory.

N.C. Sen. Pete Brunstetter, R-Forsyth, is leaving the N.C. General Assembly next month for a top position at Novant Health.
And local Republicans are putting their fingers to the wind to see if they want to go for the job of Brunstetter’s appointed replacement.
