Lewisville native turns skateboarding into 20-year career

Neal Hendrix turned a 30-second sprint into a 20-year career, but it wasn’t easy. Hendrix, a Lewisville native, has overcome numerous obstacles en route to a steady life in the skateboarding industry.

As a child, Hendrix was a state champion swimmer, but by the time he was 12, he gave up the pool to focus on skateboarding. Hendrix started skating with neighbors, riding boards found in garages over makeshift jumps in their backyards.
