Sooner or later, the time comes when parents and children sit down and have “the talk.” And it has nothing to do with the birds or the bees.

Although it may be a difficult subject for many, the conversation about end-of-life care is critical and essential, Pulitzer-Prize winning columnist Ellen Goodman said Thursday.
