On Monday, a week after his daughter was seriously injured in the bombings at the Boston Marathon, Bill Pietrantonio cheered participants in the Run for Boston event here.

He watched as more than 800 people, including about a dozen local runners who competed in the marathon, ran along the Salem Lake Greenway in honor of those killed and injured when two bombs exploded near the marathon’s finish line.
