Forsyth Technical Community College wants to buy Pinebrook Shopping Center on Patterson Avenue and turn it into a center to house the college's growing maintenance programs for trucks, cars and recreational vehicles.

It would cost the college $2 million to buy the shopping center and $12 million more to renovate it into classroom and shop space. Many of the shops will look like those on Forsyth Tech's main campus on Silas Creek Parkway and be outfitted with auto lifts, paint booths and other technical equipment.
