Winston-Salem woman to head state Pre-K

GREENSBORO The new head of the state division that oversees N.C. Pre-K and other early-education programs has questioned the core ideas behind such programs.

Dianna Lightfoot of Winston-Salem will take over at the Division of Child Development and Early Education later this month. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Aldona Wos, of Greensboro, announced Lightfoot’s hiring Wednesday, and noted in the news release that Lightfoot has been president of the National Physicians Center since 2001.
