Driving privileges questioned for immigrants on two-year reprieve from deportation

State House lawmakers are planning to meet with members of the state transportation department and attorney general’s office to get answers about the licenses that will be issued starting March 25 to immigrants who qualify for a two-year reprieve from deportation.

One of the key concerns is the constitutional powers of the federal executive branch, said Donny Lambeth, R-Forsyth, a primary sponsor of a House bill that would put a moratorium on such licenses at least until June.
