LEWISVILLE — Westbend Vineyards has a history with experimenting.
The Lewisville vineyard is known for being the first winery in North Carolina to produce wines using non-native species of grape. Despite the opinions of expert naysayers, the vineyard, established in 1972, has flourished, laying the groundwork for what has become a booming wine industry in the Yadkin Valley.
