Q: Is zoysia grass a good choice for Winston-Salem, and which variety would be best in full sun?

Answer: Zoysia grass grows in Forsyth County. It is a slow-growing, warm-season grass that grows well in full sun. It tolerates shade, too. Zoysia can be established from seeds or sprigs. You might be interested in reading our publication called “Carolina Lawns” for additional information about zoysia grass and the other types that grow in the Piedmont.
