Sale of Rural Hall machine shop may affect 55 workers

A potential plant closing involving a Rural Hall company may not have as steep an employment impact as initially indicated.

Ellwood Advanced Components LLC notified state officials on Dec. 20 that it would close its plant at 3050 Westinghouse Road by mid-April 2016, with the first job cuts from its workforce of 144 starting in January.
