More than 80 percent of the jobs created in North Carolina over a four-year period paid less than $33,709 annually, according to a report issued Wednesday by the N.C. Justice Center.

The report covers the state job market from June 2009 through September 2013. The center defines low-wage work “as a job that pays less than what it takes for a family or an individual to make ends meet.”
