Winston-Salem area ranks last in N.C. job growth

The Winston-Salem metropolitan statistical area barely avoided being the state’s only region to report an overall job decline in 2012.

The N.C. Commerce Department reported Wednesday that Davie, Forsyth, Stokes and Yadkin counties gained a combined 100 jobs during 2012 – finishing last in job growth out of the state’s 14 metro areas.
