Furniture Brands’ decline accelerating

The downward slide of Furniture Brands International Inc., once the largest U.S. furniture manufacturer with a major Triad workforce, is accelerating with news that its largest individual shareholder may be cashing out completely.

Samuel “Sammy” Kuo and his wife, Grace Liu, said in a recent regulatory filing they are in the process of selling 267,768 shares of Furniture Brands stock from their Samson Holding Ltd. company.
