Market officials report 2 percent increase in attendance over last fall

HIGH POINT — Organizers of the fall High Point Market started the trade show with hope and ended it with confidence.

The future is looking brighter for the furniture industry, some analysts said. Dealers and buyers were upbeat, and the world’s largest home furnishings market even saw a slight uptick in attendance — about 2 percent — compared with last fall, said Doug Bassett, the chairman of the High Point Market Authority.
