N.C. home buyers put down average of 14.6 percent

North Carolina home buyers are putting on average about 14.6 percent on the down payment for a 30-year mortgage loan, according to a report released Monday by LendingTree.

The financial-services company said the average home purchase for North Carolina in its study was $203,920, which means homeowners were dedicating $29,772 toward their down payment.
