The "ounce of prevention" approach to Forsyth Medical Center's latest initiative with women's health convinced Maya Angelou to lend her name to the effort.

The center has renamed its center for women's health and wellness after Angelou, the iconic poet and writer, civil-rights activist and Wake Forest University professor.
